When it comes to innovation and excitement in vehicles Mazda has always pushed to lead the pack. While the current lineup of new Mazda vehicles are elegantly crafted with sculpted bodies and performance engines, the future is looking brighter. Nao Nohmi, spokesman for Mazda, told CNNMoney that between 2030 and 2035 most of the Mazda lineup will be powered by electric or hybrid technology.

The Difference Between Electric and Electrified Vehicles

While there is a lot of hype around the push towards electric vehicles, they may still be a long way in the future. For now, the push is towards electrified cars. The main difference being that electric cars have no gasoline engine present. Electrified cars are hybrids, mild-hybrids, and plug-in hybrids. These vehicles pair an electric motor with the gasoline engine to improve efficiency and reduce emissions. In the near future Mazda has make a commitment to have a new hybrid vehicle in its lineup and introduce a full electric car by 2019. Be on the lookout for more innovation and excitement in the Mazda lineup as we push towards a more electrified future.
