All 2018 model year new Mazda vehicles come standard with Bluetooth. This feature allows you to stream calls and music without looking down at your phone, and many Mazda's from recent model years have it as well. When you buy or lease a Mazda from us we'll get your phone setup, but on the off chance your phone disconnects (or you're going on a trip and your musically-inclined friend is insistent on blasting their playlist), here is how you can connect your smartphone so you don't need to come into the dealership.
For starters, make sure your vehicle is in park. Even if your passenger is trying to pair the phone the vehicle cannot recognize that and won't let pairing occur if the vehicle is in motion.
-
- On your phone: activate the Bluetooth discover/search mode. This is usually in the general settings section
- On your Mazda: use the touchscreen and select the "Devices" tab. Then click "Add New Device"
- On your phone: search for the vehicle. It'll show as "Mazda". Click to pair
Note: Some phones will automatically pair. If yours does not, watch for a 6-digit code on the Mazda's touchscreen to enter on your phone.
Once the vehicle and device are connected your phone's profile code (generally a string of letters and numbers) will show on the touchscreen.
