The 2021 Mazda 6 is praised by car buyers for having potent engine options for its avid followers. It also has high-end cabin materials, typical to those of luxury cars. Now added to its list of standard equipment are Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The Carbon Edition is a welcome addition for the vehicle as well.

When it comes to the 2021 Chevrolet Malibu, you will experience a smooth ride in its cabin. It has now upgraded its smartphone integration by including wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as a standard.

Design & Style

The 2021 Mazda 6 allows five people to seat inside its well-appointed and comfortable cabin. There are well-contoured seats up front and there is adult-friendly seating in the two rows of seats. There is an abundance of legroom and headroom on both rows as well. This midsize car is also considered to have one of the nicest cabins out there. Since it has upscale materials inside, many find it like a luxury vehicle. There is even an option to upgrade to genuine leather, as well as heated and ventilated front seats.

For the 2021 version of the Malibu, there are also enough seats to accommodate five passengers. When compared to the Mazda 6 though, the latter is roomier. The cabin design is quite boring and dated because of the plastic materials found in there.

Technology & Safety

The 2021 Mazda 6 is gifted with the Mazda Connect infotainment system which is paired with an eight-inch touch screen. This works for functionalities such as the Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, voice recognition, two USB ports, and an HD radio. There is a lockout feature in the touch screen, as well as a central knob that drivers can use to access the interface while driving. A long list of driver aids is included in its standard offerings. Among them are automatic high-beam headlights, rearview camera, rain-sensing windshield wipers, rear cross traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, forward automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, and forward automatic emergency braking.

The Malibu's infotainment system has an eight-inch touch screen, which makes it similar to that of the Mazda 6. This may be easy to use, but it does not have the same graphics display as that of the Mazda. It includes a USB port, Bluetooth, six speakers, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. For safety, it is frustrating that its only standard feature is the rearview camera.

Performance

The 2021 Mazda 6 gives drivers two engine choices which starts with the four-cylinder, 2.5-liter that can ooze up to 187 horsepower. The other one is a turbo-four that allows it to reach up to 227 horsepower, and can even go up to 250 horsepower, depending on the gas that you use. In the case of the Malibu, the base four-cylinder, 1.5-liter engine only generates up to 160 horsepower of output.

The Bottom Line

There are indeed a lot of things to look forward to when it comes to the Mazda 6. This ride is definitely better than its Chevrolet counterpart.
