When you discover that one of your headlights is not working, you should immediately consider replacing it with a new one. If your headlights aren't working properly, a police officer may pull you over and potentially issue you a ticket. To have the headlight component in your Mazda replaced, you do not even need to take the vehicle to a repair shop for this to be done. With the help of this instruction, you may complete the task at home.
First step: Obtaining an OEMÂ Replacement Headlamp
You should place an order for an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) replacement headlamp before attempting a DIY headlamp repair on your Mazda. You can get one from the Mazda dealership or service shop closest to you, or you can place an order for one online. You will receive your original equipment manufacturer's (OEM) new headlamp without delay if you place your order with a Mazda dealership. A Mazda dealership is the place to go if you require an immediate replacement; a repair shop is not the best choice in this situation. OEM components are often stocked and available for purchase at dealerships.
Step 2: Removing the Cover of the Bumper
- First, get underneath the vehicle, and then take out each of the 10mm bolts that are securing the front bumper cover.
- Followed by the removal of the bolts, move below each front wheel well.
- Take off the screws that are attached to the lid of the bumper and the grille.
- Remove the 8mm bolt that is located between the bumper cover and the fender.
- Behind the bumper cover are two clips that hold it in place. Raise both of the fasteners to release the bumper cover from its attachment to the frame.
- To remove the bumper cover, carefully take it off.
At this point, you should take off the headlamp.
Step 3: Removing The Headlamp Housing Assembly
- Take off the ten-millimeter bolts that are securing the headlamp in place.
- Take off the clip on the top of the fender as well as the one inside the headlamp.
- There is an additional 10mm bolt on the side of the headlamp that is adjacent to the grille. This is the side of the headlight that faces the front of the vehicle. Do not include that.
- There is an additional bolt on the side of the headlamp that is opposite the fender; this is the side that is closest to the headlamp. Also, take out that sentence.
- To remove the headlamp assembly, gently pull it outward a few inches.
- First, the pins that are located behind the headlamp assembly need to be pushed in, and then the light bulbs may be removed.
Remove the headlight assembly from the vehicle.
Step 4: Putting in Place the Brand-New Headlamp Assembly
- To install the light bulbs in the replacement headlamp assembly, you must first slide them in and then turn them until they are locked into place.
- After you have reinstalled the headlamp component in the vehicle, secure it with the provided bolts.
- Install the bumper cover in the vehicle using the same steps that were used to remove it.
