There will come a time when you will need to replace the windshield wiper blades on your Mazda.  In point of fact, it is frequently a good idea to think about replacing them whenever there is a shift in the seasons, once just prior to the onset of winter and once just prior to the beginning of the warmer months. However, regardless of when you choose to accomplish this maintenance, they will at some point require replacement, either by you or a skilled Mazda service professional. If, on the other hand, you would rather complete this task on your own at home, we will demonstrate how to change the windshield wiper blades on a Mazda. If you find that the instructions provided do not apply to your Mazda, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us, make an appointment for service, or look in the owner's manual for further guidance.

How To Replace Mazda Wiper Blades

  • Raise the windshield wiper arms, beginning with the side closest to the driver, followed by the side closest to the passenger.
  • Find the clip, and then pull it open.
  • Move the assembly of the blades in the direction that points toward the vehicle, or in the direction that the arrow pointing toward the vehicle indicates. You'll then be able to take the blade assembly off at this point. When doing so, exercise extreme caution to prevent the windshield wiper arm from colliding with the glass, as this could result in costly repairs.
  • To remove the rubber blade from the blade holder on the blade assembly, slide it down the end of the assembly until it clicks into place. Additionally, each rubber blade has a metal stiffener that must be removed; these must also be removed.
  • You should put the metal stiffeners in your new blade as soon as possible. After that, remove the old blade rubber and replace it with the new one using your blade assembly.
  • Finish off the procedure by re-attaching the blade assembly in the exact opposite direction from where it was detached.

How to Change the Rear Window Wiper on the Mazda Hatchback Model

  • There is a wiper for the rear window included in the Mazda3 model that has five doors and a hatchback body style. The procedure should be somewhat consistent, although there is room for some variation.
  • A cover can be found at the very tip of the blade assembly. Take it away.
  • Next, bring up the windshield wiper arm. There is a possibility that some of them have a stopper that needs to be removed first. In the event that this is the case, please refer to the diagram on the right.
  • After the wiper arm has been raised, you can detach the wiper blade by first rotating it to the right, which will unlock it.
  • In a manner identical to that which was described above, you will need to take the blade rubber out of the blade holder, detach the metal stiffeners, and then reinstall the stiffeners into the new blade. To conclude the process, first, the new blade rubber should be installed into the blade assembly, and then the blade assembly itself should be reinstalled.
